Hvar

The sunniest and the greenest, patches of lavender rosemary and heather

We arrived in Hvar, an island that thrives on fishing and tourism on a grey and overcast day but it was still humid and balmy and we were hoping to find accommodation for the night. After many enquiries we were let down to find out that the entire island was actually fully booked (Imagine) !!
Instead we enjoyed the couple of hours we had and spent it strolling along the harbour and shores of this idyllic island. We visited some of the beautiful beaches and visted the city markets.

We walked along the waterfront and through the Old Town which boasted a wealth of historic medieval buildings. Yachts are moored in the centre of the old town transforming it into a picture out of a story book. Sadly we said goodbye to Hvar and hopped onto our second ferry of the day and headed for Split or click to return home
